Since it was created in 2000, CrossFit has become the fitness phenomenon of the world. Texan Fitness Co-Owner and Coach Ben Stevens has always been competitive, playing sports growing up, but when he got to college, he found the competitive environment of his dreams when he was introduced to CrossFit. He jumped in quickly, having developed the first program at Tarleton State University.
That was the start of a journey that led Ben and his wife, Randi, to earn their certifications and open their own gym, CrossFit Impressions, in August of 2013. Since then, Ben has competed in a number of CrossFit competitions over the past five years, including the Fittest Games, the OCT in California, Oktoberfest Obliteration in Houston, the South Central Classic in Oklahoma and the Pensacola Beach Brawl in Florida, among others.
CrossFit introduced Ben to Olympic weightlifting, which opened up a new world to him, not just in competing but in teaching. He has worked with and coached Olympic athletes at the national and local levels.
Ben enjoys teaching and coaching because he knows the exhilaration of reaching fitness milestones, and he wants to see them experience the same highs.

Texan Fitness co-owner and coach Randi Stevens found CrossFit in 2011 and fell hard for it, finding herself in competitions and coaching just a year later. She made an impact quickly, reaching the Regional Competitor status every year since 2013.
Randi has always been passionate about athletics, having participated in basketball, soccer, track, and cross-country growing up. She played basketball at Tarleton State University, and while in college she participated in mixed martial arts and roller derby.
Randi says she loves everything about what she does at Texan Fitness, as she gets to be an athlete while teaching others–regardless of their age and skill level–something she’s so passionate about.

With 18 years of coaching experience, Damian brings extensive knowledge in what it takes to build an athlete at all levels. Damian–a multi-sport athlete who played football at the collegiate level–always knew he wanted to pursue a career in coaching. He graduated with a Bachelors in Psychology and Education and a Masters in Education Administration. He has coached various sports and taught physical education for the majority of his career.
In 2012, Damian found CrossFit, and over the next five years, it reinvigorated a love for competition and for being a well-rounded athlete. He has fully embraced the CrossFit community, participating in not just workouts, but events. He volunteers as a judge at the Regional and Games level and competes locally as well as at The Granite Games.
Damian earned his CrossFit Level 1 & 2 Certifications to not only expand his knowledge for personal growth as a CrossFit athlete, but to give him the opportunity to share his knowledge and enthusiasm. Damian is especially good at recommending alternate movements or methods to suit specific ability levels.

Heather Clayton has been a personal trainer at different gyms, an in-home trainer and a boot camp instructor for more than 15 years, but she’s found her sweet spot at CrossFit Impressions, where she’s a coach and has been an athlete for three-and-a-half years.
She has been a part of “gym life” in one way or another since junior high and played sports in high school and college. She received an English Literature degree from the University of Texas at El Paso, and while Heather has tried many different professions over the years, her passion for training and being a trainer always led her back to the gym.
Heather has participated in many local CrossFit competitions and has made podium for most of them. One of her biggest accomplishments is having recently run a marathon. She has been married to her high school sweetheart for 14 years and has two children.

I was born and raised in Waco, TX. My favorite hobbies are working out, drinking coffee, hunting, reading, food blogging, concerts, yoga, traveling and being a superhero to my 2 young men. I’ve been involved with sports since the age of 6. During high school, I lettered in football and track along with competing in basketball, soccer, baseball and powerlifting. In 2011, my uncle passed away at the age of 35 due to being unhealthy and that was when I decided to dedicate my life to health and fitness. I began to run at local tracks and trails in every outdoor condition Texas weather has to offer seeking to avenge his death through being healthy. In 2014, I found CrossFit and I instantly developed the passion, will, determination and drive to not only better myself but to better people of all walks of life around me. Since receiving my L1 in 2016, I’ve help change, transform and inspire many lives
